New Britain is considering taking down its Christopher Columbus statue
in McCabe Park.
The city's Common Council heard from residents for over two hours on the
proposal Thursday.
The council is reviewing what it would cost to take down the statue. They
are also coming up with a place to put it if it is removed.
Columbus statues have also been removed in Hartford, Bridgeport and
Norwalk.
