A New Canaan man accused of fatally shooting his wife in May 2021 has died, according to Bosak Funeral Home.
In July 2021, Albert Kokoth was charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife, Margaret.
He was found not competent to stand trial three times.
A state expert said Kokoth had a "progressive and irreversible" brain disease. His obituary states he had Huntington's disease.
The 82-year-old had been held at Whiting Forensic Hospital in Middletown until his death on Feb. 21.
