The New Canaan Police Department is again issuing temporary gun permits.
Police Chief Leon Krolikowski yesterday ordered the department to stop giving out 60-day permits.
He was concerned there might be a loophole in the law that could allow people with a history of mental illness to purchase guns.
Krolikowski says he discussed his concerns with the Department of Public Safety and is satisfied there is no loophole.
