The football field at the new Harding High School in Bridgeport is being dedicated to a former coach who was fatally shot.
Mayor Joe Ganim joined Sen. Richard Blumenthal in dedicating the new Harding High School football field to John Lewis, an alum and former coach at the school. Lewis was fatally shot outside his home in 1989.
Lewis is being remembered as a man who was devoted to shaping young lives and having a positive impact on generations of graduates.
