A new law that goes into effect today makes certain divorces a lot easier in Connecticut.
The law only applies to some couples however.
The divorce has to be completely amicable, couples have to be married fewer than eight years, they can't have any kids together and they can only own up to $35,000 in property together.
If a couple meetS all those criteria, they can skip the state's 90-day waiting period for a divorce plus the wait to see a judge.
The law is designed to save couples time and money and clear judges' dockets for other cases.
