The Darien Post Office has a new permanent location.
The Darien Post Office is located at 25 Old Kings Highway North in the Goodwives Shopping Center next to Stop & Shop. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Retail services and P.O. Boxes were temporarily moved from the old Darien Post Office on Corbin Drive to the Noroton Heights Post Office six months ago. The United States Postal Service says P.O. Box mail has now been transferred to the new location.
The USPS says customers will keep their P.O. Box numbers but will need to pick up a new key at the retail window during regular business hours. Customers will need to provide a government-issued ID to receive the new key. There will be no change in delivery routes and no interruption of service for door-to-door delivery.
The Darien Post Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There are no retail hours on Sunday. Customers have access to their P.O. Boxes 24/7.
