New Stratford deli shut down by pandemic reopens with ribbon cutting ceremony

It took nine months for a new Stratford deli to finally get the chance to celebrate its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.
El Cafecito Deli opened in January, but had to close at the beginning of the pandemic.
The deli finally reopened about six weeks ago.
Stratford Mayor Laura Hoydick visited the deli to cut the ribbon.
The deli offers American and Central American cuisine.
"We have to serve our community, we're here to help everyone who wants to come and enjoy cuisine that is actually a little bit unknown to Stratford, specially for people who are not Spanish, or Central American I would say," says El Cafecito's Marco Roja.
El Cafecito Deli is located on Main Street in Oronoque Plaza, across from Sikorsky Aircraft.
