A musician who lost his daughter in the Sandy Hook school shooting is now up for music's highest honor.
Jimmy Greene, a music professor at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, was nominated for two Grammy Awards this week.
He dedicated his latest album, "Beautiful Life," to his daughter Ana Marquez-Greene. The 6-year-old was killed in the Newtown school massacre three years ago. The album ends with Ana's former classmates singing.
The album was nominated for best arrangement, instruments and vocals for the song "When I Come Home" and best jazz instrumental album.
Much of the proceeds from "Beautiful Life" go toward two charities in Ana's name.
The 2016 Grammy Awards will be held Feb. 15, 2016 in Los Angeles.
