A Newtown man spoke out after he says he welcomed six students into his home Friday, just minutes after their teacher was shot dead.

Gene Rosen is a former psychologist who says he did everything possible to console the children.

Rosen lives about a mile from the school and says he saw the children standing in his driveway just minutes after their teacher, Victoria Soto, and several classmates were killed.

He says he brought them inside and gave them juice and stuffed animals as they cried about the fact that their teacher was dead.

It is something Rosen says will affect him for the rest of his life.
