The storm has been widespread throughout the Hudson Valley. Rockland County also has trees down, so let's get right to Clarkstown town supervisor George Holman to talk about the problems in your area. Thank you for being with us. Well, good morning, Lisa, and happy to be with you. Um, you know, the, um, we've had a couple of incidents here in Clarkstown, according to Orange and Rockland, we have about 245 people still out of power as of about 8 o'clock this morning in Rockland. Uh, we have about 125 are out of power in Clarkstown. 77 of those are because of a downed tree on Birchwood Terrace in Upper Nyack. And then we have about 59 people that are out of power due to some other down trees across, um, across the town, primarily up in the Nannuwe area. We have a couple of roads that have been impacted just recently. Casper Hill and Crusher Road over in Valley Cottage, there's some down tree. Uh, there's also um uh uh hanging branches and a leaning tree on Pineview in Bardonia. Uh, other than that, we haven't had a lot of uh flooding, you know, um, We were expecting up to 3 inches. We obviously didn't get that, but um uh we got well over 1 inch so far. Uh, and, um, so there was some ponding and so we'll be watching that. And we just encourage people to stay away from down wires and be very, very careful. I heard Lisa, uh, you know, um, you know, LaRocca saying earlier about the, the, uh, leaves. You know, the leaves were still up in the trees, and with these heavy winds and the rain, they're now on the ground and crews haven't been able to get out and clean them up. So it's very, very, very slick. Uh, with those leaves, so just be very careful, you know, it is, uh, Columbus Day, so, you know, if you don't have to be out in this mess, uh, stay home and, uh, our crews are out and about addressing these issues. This morning going to the South Shore from the north is the town of Babylon on alert for flooding there? That's right. High tide there was much earlier around 3:30. And so joining us now to give us an update, town supervisor in Babylon Rich Schaefer. Rich, good morning. Thanks for joining us. Uh, what are the conditions down there this morning? Uh, we're, we're seeing what everybody else is seeing some minor to moderate street flooding. Uh, we're more concerned about later this afternoon, so we've been alerting our residents throughout the weekend. Uh, to do what they normally do, which is to make preparations, move their vehicles, don't drive in any floodwaters, uh, car damage as well as damage that you do to surrounding properties, and, uh, we're gonna wait, uh, for a little bit later on this morning to check out erosion. Out at our beaches, you know, we did a major Army Corps of Engineers project, uh, earlier this year to restore Overlook and uh Gilgo beaches. So we want to take a look and see what damage was done by this storm uh later on this afternoon. Absolutely checking in on that, but also when we look outside, we both said to each. Other, you know, it looks OK right now if you're just looking from your house, as you said, we have to wait. Don't let that define the day. Know that that high tide is coming for those South Shore residents. Yeah, and also keep an eye out for falling tree limbs trees. We had several trees down overnight because of the wind. So our crews are gonna be working throughout the day, but people have to be alert. Don't get fooled by the lull, as Rich has said, uh, the storm, uh, has kind of gone, uh, as it was predicted to go, and the bulk of it, uh, or the, uh, the, uh, emphasis will be on later this afternoon.
