The Catch A Lift Fund - a national nonprofit dedicated to helping post-9/11 combat-injured veterans - held a dinner and award ceremony at the Pastime Social & Athletic Club in Norwalk Sunday.

"We are dedicated to helping our American heroes heal," said Joe Gallo, who helped organize the event.

U.S. Army Cpl. Carlos Evans, 45, said he does not regret his service.

"Losing both of my legs and my left hand in Afghanistan in 2010, even after that I don't regret it, I don't regret what happened. I don't regret what I did because I've grown so much from the experience - so no regrets," Evans said.
