? A Venezuelan dance group is upset over a Norwalk Catholic church?s decision to uninvite members from an event over a costume.
Venedance says St. Mary?s Church reneged on its plan to let the group perform at a church-sponsored international festival this week after seeing a promotional picture the group took. Although the church asked the group to take the picture, officials say the clothing was out of touch with the Catholic value of modesty.
Venedance members maintain the clothing reflects Venezuelan culture and folklore and has nothing to do with being immodest. Members say they are hurt that they are no longer welcome at the event, which they performed at before.
