Norwalk school officials said today that a teacher at Marvin Elementary School has died.
Officials say Kara Kovlakas taught third grade at the school for 11 years.
Kovlakas would have turned 34 years old Friday. She leaves behind her husband and two young children.
Friends and family are in shock and trying to cope with the loss.
"It is absolutely a huge, huge loss of such a beautiful person and I will miss her so much. I'm in absolute shock," says family friend Katie Ghadiyali.
Grief counselors were on hand today at Norwalk schools for anyone who needed support.
A GoFundMe page has been started for the family of Kovlalkas.
