A former city police officer in Norwalk is facing charges for nearly $20,000 in workers' compensation fraud.

Prosecutors say Steven Luciano claimed he hurt his neck while getting out of his police car and said the nerve injury reduced his grip strength.

Investigators later saw Luciano lifting weights at a local gym.

He is due in court next month.
