A family is crediting their son with saving his sister's life after she fell off her bike and down a 5-foot sea wall.
Family and friends are calling 10-year-old Wyatt Bloom, of Norwalk, a hero.
Bloom's family was on vacation on Leetes Island near Guilford when the incident happened.
They say Wyatt and his 7-year-old sister, Piper, were on a bike ride Sunday when Piper lost control of her bike and fell down onto rocks and concrete face-first.
Wyatt left his sister to get help by knocking on doors. He was luckily able to find an EMT and doctor nearby, and Piper was later transported to Yale Pediatrics.
Wyatt's family says Piper was thankfully wearing a new helmet she got an hour before the incident.
Piper has some facial fractures and needed stitches, but she is expected to make a full recovery.
