As COVID numbers climb, there's a renewed emphasis on testing as a way to stop the spread.
Norwalk handed out thousands of at-home test kits to residents at Calf Pasture Beach Tuesday evening.
Organizers wanted to make distribution as smooth as possible. It was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday but they started handing out tests 45 minutes early.
Officials say they had enough tests for about 4,000 vehicles.
With so many people testing at home, it is likely the statistics are going to get less precise. Norwalk is handing out postcards with a code so people can report positive test results.
