Norwalk man dies at helm of tugboat

A tugboat captain from Norwalk died Monday night at the helm of his boat. Edward Smith, 50, had a heart attack while navigating the Hudson River, officials say. A crew member took over the controls.

Earlier this month, another tugboat tragedy killed three crew members in the same stretch of river when their vessel crashed into a barge at the Tappan Zee Bridge construction project.
