Norwalk debuted two new four-legged police officers Thursday, bolstering the department with a pair of K-9s trained in explosives detection.
Indy and Luke are both 2-year-old black Labradors.
After more than 400 hours of training in a variety of public settings, police say they can detect the scents of more than 30 different explosives in large crowds and public places.
The dogs are paired with officers who also handle the department's German shepherds, which sniff out narcotics.
Funds to purchase the dogs came from both the city of Norwalk and private donations.
