A preschool in Norwalk is proving it is never too early to get involved in the election process.
Preschool students at Nitzan Nursery School participated in their own special election Tuesday.
News 12 Connecticut is told the children voted for their favorite snacks. The choices on the ballot were Ritz crackers and pretzels.
Organizers say the activity helps students better understand the voting process.
"I think they hear what their parents say and they repeat what their parents say, so we thought we'd bring it down to their level a little bit," says Amy Santalucia, a faculty member at Nitzan Nursey School.
The school says the preliminary winner of the election was pretzels. The children received stickers saying they voted following the election.
