Norwalk's mask mandate is now in full effect as COVID-19 cases continue to rise due to the delta variant.
Norwalk now joins Stamford and Bridgeport in issuing citywide mask mandates.
Regardless of whether they've been vaccinated or not, people must wear masks inside all Norwalk establishments where social distancing can't be maintained. This includes grocery stores, gyms, places of worship, and bars and restaurants.
The city's police department and health department will enforce the mandate.
Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling says he would have rather seen the return of a statewide mandate though as people travel from town to town.
