Norwalk police say the roads are safer after a truck safety checkpoint this week.
Officers teamed up with state police to pull over the trucks.
They say they took five off the road. Two trucks were overweight, two had mechanical issues and one driver didn't have a commercial license.
Police say the fines issued total more than $15,000.
