Notre Dame Prep student awarded $40,000 college scholarship

The College Board surprised a Notre Dame Prep student Monday morning with $40,000.
It's part of the board's BigFuture Scholarship program.
The surprise announcement was made at a schoolwide assembly.
The lucky Class of 2026 student is Aidan Otey from Hamden. He said he had no idea it was coming.
"I wasn't expecting it, I didn't know this was going to happen. I'm just shocked,” said Otey. “This is the happiest feeling I've had. It's not every day that you win $40,000."
Aidan says he wants to pursue finance and economics at Sacred Heart University, and this money will help him do just that.
