Commuting to New York City could soon get a little easier with talks of possible ferry service from Stamford.
The city is looking to launch the service to lower Manhattan. Transportation planners say the trip could take about an hour and cost between $15 and $20. City officials believe the ferry service is a way to ease clogged roadways and revitalize the waterfront.
Planners say the service has been studied before, but they believe it would be successful this time around. They say with rising gas prices, commuters are seriously looking at other options to get around.
City officials say the ferries could have airline-style seating, a café and bar and wireless Internet.
