(AP) - Barack Obama's former pastor iscriticizing the media's coverage of a controversy that caused thepresident-elect to distance himself from his pastor during thepresidential campaign.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. spoke Thursday night to about 200people at a Milford church during a forum about race andreligion.
Wright became well-known earlier this year after videotapessurfaced showing the pastor making anti-American statements fromthe pulpit of the Chicago church where Obama had worshipped for 20years. Obama eventually severed ties with Wright.
Wright says the quotes were taken out of context. He says he wastrying to describe the anger that people felt following theterrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
