Sen. Chris Murphy joined transportation officials in Stamford today to discuss how the recent federal transportation bill passage will make Amtrak travel safer for riders in Connecticut.
Murphy spoke at the Stamford Train Station about the bill that guarantees $1.4 billion for Amtrak and rail safety.
He says he also fought for a specific provision that sets aside $19 million for the Northeast Corridor line, which runs through Connecticut.
Murphy says after the fatal accident in Philadelphia, it's important to make some changes on the line.
