Officials: Incoming freshman class at Uconn is the largest in school history

Officials say they received a record-setting amount of applications-60,000 from around the world.

As members of The University of Connecticut class of 2028 moved onto campus Thursday, school officials say this year's incoming class is the largest in school history.
Over 6,500 incoming first year students are enrolled in the school, including 4,500 at Storrs and the rest at campuses in Stamford, Hartford, Waterbury, and Avery Point.
Officials say they received a record-setting amount of applications-60,000 from around the world.
Overall, there were nearly 25,000 undergraduate students across all campuses this fall.
The incoming classes includes students from 156 of the state's 169 municipalities, along with 43 states and 92 countries.
Classes begin Monday.
