State health officials announced Monday that over half of the ticks tested in 2025 were positive for Lyme disease.
Officials say more than 10,000 ticks were tested between last spring, summer and fall from 40 locations across the state's eight counties.
In total, 55% of adult ticks tested across the state had positive cases of the disease.
The state says the highest concentration of Lyme was found in Fairfield County, where nearly 68% of female adult ticks tested had the bacteria.
