The Office of the Inspector General released videos showing the moment New Haven police shot and killed a man wanted for robbery and gun charges in West Haven.
Officials said the New Haven Violent Crime Task Force tracked down Jebrell Conley at Splash Car Wash on Boston Post Road around 5 p.m.
Conley was shot several times and was transported and later died at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Several officers surrounded the car telling him to get out, but video released on Monday shows Conley backing into a police car behind him.
The video shows Conley pulling a gun and firing a shot, prompting officers to respond and fire back.
Officers recovered a handgun from Conley’s car with a high-capacity magazine.
Initial reports said Conley’s gun got jammed after firing one round.
The Office of the Inspector General shared images showing Conley holding the gun from inside the car.
