Stamford joined a nationwide movement Tuesday to honor the people lost during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The old town hall turned into a memorial to honor the 247 Stamford residents who have died of the virus.
The bells at the First Presbyterian Church rang at 5:30 p.m. as a reminder to pause, pray or meditate for COVID-19 Memorial Day.
The first time the bell was rung was to honor health care workers in the spring.
Similar displays could be seen in cities across the country. More than 6,000 Connecticut residents have lost their lives to COVID-19.
