Local businesses say they are struggling to keep up with online retailers amid what is typically the busiest time of year for them.
AG Guarino, owner of Fairfield Sporting Goods, says his business is not growing as fast as he would like. He says a big factor in slow sales is that more and more people are buying their products online.
To compete with online retail giants like Amazon, Guarino says local businesses need to distinguish themselves. In order to achieve that, he says they must offer the right inventory and great customer service that can't be found on the Internet.
Fairfield Sporting Goods does have a website through which it sells some of its customizable products.
