Fairfield nonprofit Operation Hope is preparing for its annual Evening of Hope celebration.
The event will take place on May 11 at 6 p.m. at The Inn at Longshore in Westport. It'll feature dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions. There will also be an online auction accessible on Operation Hope's website in the coming days.
Now in its 20th year, Evening of Hope remains Operation Hope's largest fundraiser. Proceeds will help fund the nonprofit's services, including the soup kitchen and food pantry.
Evening of Hope organizers say the event is crucial in helping Operation Hope fulfill its mission of ending hunger and homelessness.
"I went and worked at the food kitchen the other day, and they were lined up. There's still so much need there," event co-chair Joan Ryan said.
