Oreo is launching a chicken and waffles cookie; fans to decide if it comes back
The unusual new flavor is one of three limited-edition Oreos hitting stores this month as part of a fan vote.

Oreo is turning chicken and waffles into a cookie.
Oreo Chicken & Waffles Cookies will arrive at retailers nationwide Aug. 24 alongside two other new limited-edition flavors: Oreo Deep Fried and Oreo Banana Pudding. Presales for all three begin Aug. 17.
The Chicken & Waffles version features waffle-textured cookies and two layers of creme with sweet and savory flavors designed to evoke fried chicken and maple syrup. Oreo calls it a first-of-its-kind offering in the cookie aisle.
The Deep Fried variety uses fried dough-flavored cookies with dark chocolate and fried dough-flavored creme. Banana Pudding features banana and vanilla pudding-flavored creme between vanilla wafer cookies.
But only one of the three is guaranteed a return trip. Fans will ultimately decide which of the new flavors gets an encore.
Fans can vote for their favorite from Aug. 17 through Oct. 12 by scanning a QR code on the packages or voting through Oreo's website. The winning flavor will be announced Oct. 13 and return nationwide for a limited time in 2027.
The three flavors will be available for presale through Oreo's website and in limited quantities through SnackWorks' TikTok Shop beginning Aug. 17. They will roll out to grocery and other retail stores nationwide Aug. 24 for a limited time while supplies last.
