Thursday night's storms may have been quick, but they were powerful enough to knock down trees and power lines on Quarry Road in Stamford.
The storms also knocked out power to several communities.
One couple says their SUV was hit by a tree that came down during the storm. Another car of theirs had some damage.
Other residents on Quarry Road lost power, but it came back on within a few hours.
