A pair of American red wolves at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport are gaining attention after a video of their howling went viral.
The sound could be heard near Route 8 as the wolves made themselves known.
The zoo said the wolves, named Ranger and Taylor, are part of its conservation efforts. Only about 30 red wolves remain in the wild.
Zoo officials said the pair serves as ambassadors for the critically endangered species. They said the video shows how powerful and far‑reaching a wolf’s howl can be.
