Hundreds lined parade routes in Fairfield and Stratford Monday to pay tribute to soldiers who died in combat, and to thank the ones who were fortunate enough to make it back alive.
The Fairfield Ludlowe High School Marching Band played in honor of soldiers who gave so much of themselves to serve their country. In Stratford, veterans remembered their comrades who lost their lives in the fight for freedom.
And despite the differences in opinions surrounding the current war in Iraq, all who came out this Memorial Day were united in support of the troops.
