Parking controversy sparks fine increase proposal in the Bronx
As commercial and residential parkers remain at odds, Bronx residents hope new proposals will bring results. Residents on Prentiss Avenue and many others complain that illegally parked commercial vehicles are taking up residential parking spaces. Councilman James Vacca (D-NY) is proposing a fine increase of $700 for violating vehicles. The proposed bill will also raise fines for second time offenders. If legislation passes, offenders could be forced to pay more than $1,200.
