The Diocese of Bridgeport says one of its pastors has chosen to resign rather than get recommended treatment after several complaints were filed against him.
Bishop Frank Caggiano posted a letter on the diocese's website about Reverend Frank Gomez at St. Charles Borromeo. It says that Gomez had been in treatment over "boundary violations" involving young people.
Officials say Gomez texted them and offered presents without their parents' permission.
There are no allegations of sex abuse.
The diocese says Gomez was recommended for further treatment at a center in Canada but refused.
