A person was taken to a hospital after being hit and trapped under a car in Bridgeport just after 7:30 p.m. last night.

Police said the crash happened on East Washington Avenue.

The pedestrian was alert and conscious before being taken to a nearby hospital for a head injury.

The driver stayed at the scene. Police are looking into what led up to the crash.
