A person crashed into a tree and had to be extricated from their vehicle Saturday in Norwalk, according to fire officials.
The crash happened at 5:19 a.m. in the center grass median on the Route 7 Connector in the area of exits 2 to 1.
Firefighters were informed by state police that a person was trapped inside a vehicle.
Crews used extrication tools to remove the driver while Norwalk EMS began advance life support treatment.
The person was removed within 28 minutes.
They were taken to Norwalk Hospital with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is not yet clear.
