Fairfield police say two teens broke into a home and stole from a family Friday afternoon.
K-9 units had tracked a suspect from the home on Melville Avenue down the Rooster River, according to officials. They say Fairfield police called off the search because the suspect is believed to have escaped into Bridgeport.
Police say they have another suspect in custody already.
The teens allegedly rode up on bicycles to the house, where neighbors say they saw them break in at around 3 p.m.
A witness told police that one suspect climbed through a window and opened the back door to let the other inside.
Police say the accused burglars stole jewelry and other valuables from the home.
