Stamford police say two people are in custody following a shooting and car chase that began in Stamford and ended in East Norwalk.
Police say the ordeal began when convicted felon Robert "BJ" Hudson and Shameka McNairn shot at a car on Ann Street in West Stamford at around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin says many shots were fired.
Soon after, police say they got word that the intended victim was following the suspect on I-95.
News 12 is told both vehicles involved got off at exit 16 in Norwalk, where two more shots were fired. The vehicles headed down East Avenue and wound up crashing in front of Penny's Diner near Fitch Street. Officials say additional shots were fired at that scene.
A Norwalk officer responded quickly and chased the suspects down.
Police say a handgun was recovered behind the diner. They say the car's rear window was shot out and shell casings were also found.
As previously reported, police have seen an increase in shootings in the area, although it's unclear if this incident is related to the others.
Police say they hope to make another arrest in the case.
The suspects are being held on bond until their arraignments on Monday.
