Police: 2 men in Monroe tampered with a car’s odometer before Facebook Marketplace sale

Police said Edgar D. Gonzalez, of Monroe, and Elmer Pacheco-Diaz, of Stratford, are accused of participating in a scheme to buy cars at auction, tamper with the mileage, and resell the cars at inflated prices.

Monroe police arrested two men accused of tampering with a car's odometer and title before selling the vehicle on Facebook Marketplace.
Police said Edgar D. Gonzalez, of Monroe, and Elmer Pacheco-Diaz, of Stratford, are accused of participating in a scheme to buy cars at auction, tamper with the mileage, and resell the cars at inflated prices.
Police believe there are more victims.
