Two men were arrested after three vape shops in Norwalk were busted for allegedly selling illegal products including psychedelics.
Police say they received information in January that certain vape shops in Norwalk were selling marijuana, pills, psychedelic mushrooms, and other narcotics.
Police were able to obtain search warrants.
Police say the search warrants led to the seizure of around 3 pounds of marijuana, 30 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, thousands of products containing illegal levels of THC -- including gummies, vapes, and oils and more than $8,000 in cash.
The shops include Vape Wise on Liberty Square, New York Exotic Snax on Washington Street, and SoNo Vape on Washington Street.
Police say 43-year-old Mohsin Said, of Vape Wise, was charged with sale of a controlled substance, and 28-year-old Husain Yeslem, of SoNo Vape, was charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance.
Investigators say both men live out of state and are due in court next week.
Police say multiple local and state agencies assisted in the investigation.
The Norwalk busts comes after a worker at Mohegan Smoke Shop in Wilton was recently issued a citation after police say they caught him selling a nicotine vaping device to a minor.
Police say they also seized dozens of products containing illegal levels of THC from the business.
Norwalk police say more arrests are expected.
