Three men are in custody after allegedly robbing the Merritt Federal Credit Union on South Avenue in Stratford just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say the suspects wore dark clothing and carried a gun. Initial reports claim shots were fired, but police found no supporting evidence.
The alleged robbers attempted to escape on foot, but officers searching the area located and arrested the men just a few blocks from the crime scene.
Police will not release the names of the suspects, but they say the men are all in their 20s and were identified by the victims.
