After a seven-month investigation, state police have arrested four people involved with stealing money from a state-run substance abuse treatment program in Bridgeport.
A police report says Nikkita Chesney, a case worker at Access to Recovery, promised clients cash in return for requesting day care services.
The recovery program already offers that benefit.
Police say Chesney and her co-conspirators forged documents to make clients appear eligible for benefits when they weren't.
The four allegedly stole over $35,000 from the program.
The suspects face a variety of theft and forgery charges.
