Four people are dead following a single-vehicle crash in Waterbury, police say.

According to police the vehicle with four occupants collided with market at 45 Cherry Street.

Three of the people were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth died at the hospital.

There were no individuals inside the portion of the building that was struck at the time of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, Cherry Street will remain closed from East Main Street to Walnut Street until further notice, Waterbury police say.
