Seven pounds of cocaine were seized by Bridgeport police yesterday after a traffic stop on Summerfield Avenue.
Police say they were tipped off about a drug deal involving driver Willie Wardwell, who allegedly had the package wrapped in plastic and yellow mustard. Authorities say it was a futile attempt to elude the K-9 unit that sniffed out the cocaine.
The drugs seized were worth an estimated $640,000, police say.
According to officials, Wardwell, 32, has a history of drug charges.
