Police: Armed carjackers robbed Bridgeport mom
Two men threatened, robbed and carjacked a Bridgeport delivery woman in Black Rock Saturday night, according to police.
Maribel Mendez, 49, says she was delivering food to the 100 block of Shell Street when two men approached her, said they had placed the order and threatened her with a gun.
"He was pounding his gun into my chest," she says. "'Give me everything, everything.' So I'm emptying out my pockets...they ran towards my car, jumped in and took off."
She says they took $300, her 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and the two pizzas they had ordered delivered to the dark street -- where there were no working surveillance cameras.
"I started this job delivering food, and I have to rethink that now," Mendez says. "It's just not safe, and there's not much more I could have done to be a little safer."
Bridgeport police say they are seeking the stolen car and two suspects.
