Norwalk police say two people were arrested Saturday after stealing bank account information from people using a local ATM.
According to authorities, 23-year-old Victor Constantin and 29-year-old Gina Georghe, both illegal immigrants from Romania, attached a camera to the ATM at the bank on North Main Street to record people entering their PIN numbers. They also installed a scanning device to read information off the ATM cards? magnetic strips.
Police told News 12 Connecticut the equipment they used to steal information is sophisticated.
Bail was set at $1 million for each suspect. They are both due back in court next week.
