Stamford police say they've arrested a suspect in connection to the gunfire that erupted Sunday on West Avenue.
Police say 21-year-old Everett Brown, of Stamford, surrendered to investigators today after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence.
Brown is charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit, risk of injury and carrying a dangerous weapon. He is being held on a court-set bond of $1.5 million.
As News 12 has reported, a teen was killed and two others were hurt when gunfire rang out Sunday night during a "car meet" of vehicle enthusiasts. It happened in the parking lot of RPM Raceway at 600 West Ave.
Courtney Lewis, 19, a former Stamford High School football player, was killed. Police say the two other shooting victims, a 17-year-old and a 33-year-old, are expected to recover.
Brown was not charged Wednesday with any counts related to Lewis' death.
Police say their investigation remains active and there is a potential for additional charges at a later date. They are asking any witnesses to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 203-977-4417.
